Three Days Later...
It's been a spell, but I'm back at it. I've been doing a lot of thinking, and a lot of working, to be honest. I was unsuccessful with my attempt at getting a new job, but it was definitely a good experience.
I hadn't interviewed for a job in years, as the few gigs that I got basically just fell into my lap. That said, those jobs – nor their hiring processes – were not a challenge for me. This interview process was definitely a challenge, and I learned a lot. The biggest lesson I learned was to trust myself, rather than try to follow steps laid out by others. Nobody wants you to simply do what they ask; they want you to think for yourself.
Anyways, since then I have been laying low, maybe even sulking a bit. But I'm all better now, ready for what's next. Hopefully another shot at a different gig; currently there are several opportunities at my doorstep, but I'm shooting for one in particular. If there's a lesson here, I would say that it is to trust yourself, and if you want it bad enough, you will get there. There may be bumps, however.
